What will happen after your readers hit the subscribe button?
When your readers purchase a subscription, they can generally access all paid issues and subscriptions within their subscription period.
Example
A publisher has the following issues:
Issue 1: Subscribe issue published January 1st, 2022
Issue 2: Paid issue published February 1st, 2022
Issue 3: Paid issue published March 1st, 2022
Issue 4: Subscribe issue published April 1st, 2022
Readers purchase a quarterly subscription from January 1st to March 31, 2022.
They can get access to all issues above but the April issue.
How does it work with the multi subscriptions?
To get to know it better, let's see some examples below. It's important to know that we don't include the published date in the examples because it works the same way as above.
Example 1
A publisher has the following issues:
Issue 1: Subscribe issue linked to Subscription A
Issue 2: Subscribe issue linked to Subscription A
Issue 3: Subscribe issue linked to Subscription B
When readers purchase Subscription A, they get access to issue 1 and 2 only.
When readers purchase Subscription B, they get access to issue 3 only.Example 2
A publisher has the following issues:
Issue 1: Subscribe issue linked to Subscription A
Issue 2: Subscribe issue linked to Subscription B
Issue 3: Subscribe issue linked to Subscription A and Subscription B
When readers purchase Subscription A, they get access to issue 1 and 3 only.
When readers purchase Subscription B, they get access to issue 2 and issue 3 only.
Is it possible to offer paid single issues along with the subscriptions?
Yes, it is.
How does the subscription work if I offer a paid single issue too?
With our multi-subscriptions feature, you can either set a paid-only issue or link the paid issue to a subscription(s). For more details, kindly check out this article.

Example 1
A publisher has the following issues:
Issue 1: Paid issue without a subscription
Issue 2: Subscribe issue linked to Subscription A
Issue 3: Subscribe issue linked to Subscription B
When readers purchase Subscription A, they get access to issue 2 only.
When readers purchase Subscription B, they get access to issue 3 only.
If they want to read issue 1, they are required to purchase it. The same goes for the readers without subscriptions. They can purchase Issue 1 without purchasing the subscriptions.Example 2

Issue 1: Paid issue with subscription A
Issue 2: Subscribe issue linked to Subscription A
Issue 3: Subscribe issue linked to Subscription B
When readers purchase Subscription A, they get access to issue 1 and 2 only.
When readers purchase Subscription B, they get access to issue 3 only.
Readers without subscriptions can also purchase Issue 1.Example 3

Issue 2: Subscribe issue linked to Subscription A

When readers purchase Subscription A, they get access to issue 1 and 2 only.
When readers purchase Subscription B, they get access to issue 1 and 3 only.
Readers without subscriptions can also purchase Issue 1.
Can I give a free subscription to my readers as a gift?
Yes, you can do that by creating a custom subscription for them. Readers with a custom subscription have access to ALL your subscription & paid content (unless it's classified). Here is the custom subscription help article for your reference.
What access do my readers have if I create them a custom subscription?
With custom subscriptions, they can access all paid and subscribe issues within their custom subscription period.
