Having your own website is critical for your own branding especially in this digital era, and there's no reason you should stop using it just because you need a separate platform specifically to manage your issues and publications.

With MagLoft WordPress plugin, you can now connect your WordPress site to your MagLoft portal, so you can get the best of both worlds! Check out our blog post here regarding the WordPress plugin to better understand what is it and why you would benefit from the plugin!

Now, how do you actually set it up?

First of all, you need to make sure that you already have a shopping cart plugin installed. We recommend WooCommerce, but you can also use MemberPress as an alternative.

Next, you need to download the plugin file. The WordPress plugin zip file is readily available and can be downloaded here.

Once you download the plugin, you can go ahead to your WordPress admin settings, and go to Installed Plugin > Add New > Upload Plugin:

Once you've uploaded the plugin, you should see the message asking you to activate the plugin. You will need to click on the blue 'Activate Plugin' button to confirm activation:

After you've activated the plugin, on the sidebar menu of the WordPress admin setting, there should be a MagLoft option available:

If there's no 'MagLoft' option available in the admin, it means that the plugin was not uploaded or activated correctly. You will need to delete the plugin (if it's listed on the Installed Plugin) and try to upload and activate it again.

To connect the plugin with your MagLoft portal, you are required to provide your Access Token. Both of these are readily available on your portal.

The Access Token can be accessed on your Account Profile Information:

The WordPress plugin activation is completed at this point!

However, we understand that most of the times, you're not only offering a magazine purchases/subscription on your website. This is why you will need to manually define which products on your website should be linked to MagLoft.

To enable it, you will need to go to the Products that you have on your website, and click to edit the specific product you'd like to link. Under the description, you should be able to see there's a MagLoft box that you can tick to enable:

When ticked, it means that this specific product is linked to MagLoft.

If you scroll down further, you will be able to see further settings on the product. The two settings are as below:

In the Publication box, you can pick which of your publication that you would want to be synced with that particular product. Please make sure you click on the publication name to select it and it will be highlighted.

Unlock all Backissues is for when you want that purchase give your readers the ability to unlock all of the previous issues you have.

The Unlock All Backissues is only recommended for Subscription products, and only if you'd prefer for your readers to be able to access all issues that were published before their subscription purchase. If this box is not enabled, your reader will only access the subscription starting from their purchase date or just the one single issue purchase only.

I have multiple publications with MagLoft, can I still use the plugin?

Yes! We have recently updated our plugin to be available for our clients who have multiple publications. You only need to install the plugin once, and then while setting up the products, you can choose which publication you'd like to connect the product with.

Kindly note, that the MagLoft WordPress Plugin currently only works on our paid plans. If you are currently not on a paid plan but would like to upgrade, you can check out how to do so here.

If you are planning to use multiple publications with the plugin, all of your publications need to be on a paid plan as well.

That is all! Very simple and easy, right?! You don't need any manual confirmation from our team, if you managed to set this up yourself, it will automatically work :)

But of course, if you have any questions or need any help with the initial setup, don't hesitate to reach out and let us know!
