Creating an entirely new issue is always difficult and time consuming. Here at MagLoft, we want to help make your life easier as much as we can. Whether you'd like to copy your entire past issue so you can use the same template on your new issue, or if you'd like to copy the template of one page to use on another page, we have just the thing for you!

CLONE ISSUES

If you would like to use the same template of your previous issue for a new issue, you can do so by cloning your entire issue. To access this setting, you can simply go to Portal > Create content > Open the issue that you'd like to clone. Scroll down until you see the Advanced Settings for the issue.

You will then see a Clone Issue box. Enter the name of the new issue (cloned) and then click the blue 'Clone Issue' button:

After that, you can simply go back to Portal > Create Content and your new cloned issue should be available! You can also move it to another publication while you are cloning an issue by selecting the publication in the target box dropdown.

CLONE PAGES

If you'd simply like to copy a template of a certain page in your issue, you can use our clone page feature. To do so, you will need to open the issue (Portal > Content > Issues > Click on the issue > Editor).

After that, you can simply open the Pages (located on the left side of the editor) and under each page, you should see the 'Clone' button. You can simply click this on the actual page that you'd like to be cloned.

Kindly note that you can only clone the page within the same issue. The new cloned page will automatically appear at the very bottom of the pages, however, you are free to move the pages around to the correct order!

LAYER WIDGET

Now, if you would like to copy the entire page of your content and use it on another issue, worry not as it is possible with our Layer widget!

Open the page of the issue that you'd like to copy, and click the Widgets option located on the left side of the page. Drag the Layer widget to the page, and put everything on that widget:

After that, you can save the Layer widget as a block. You can do this by clicking the icon on the top left of the issue page:

You will then be asked to fill in some details regarding the new block:

After saving the block, you can simply go to the other issues that you'd like to use it on. Open the issue, and click on Blocks located on the left side of the editor:

You can drag the block that you saved earlier to the new page that you'd like to use it on!  If you'd like to read more regarding saving your content like blocks, check out our blog post here (there's also a video that might help you understand better how to do it!)
