User Interface Text that you can & cannot change in the Universal App

You can configure some user interface text in UA. Find out which text you can and cannot change.

Some text on UA is configurable by the user via UA Admin. It accepts most languages using the alphabet and its variations. For example, it also accepts the characters ñ, ü, and ß.

In the following screenshots, you will see text highlighted in yellow and red.

  • Yellow highlights represent the text field that can be customized by the Publishers via Universal App (UA) admin.

  • Text highlighted in red can not be changed.

  • Text that is not highlighted is part of the content you have full control of from the Content tab, whether it's part of the Articles, Collections, or Categories.

Let's see which text you can customize yourself!

Top Menu

Notes:
The Home tab in menu items can only be renamed by request through MagLoft's support team.

Footer

  • The list of categories is dynamic content. It will show non-empty categories specified on the Content > Categories in the UA Admin.

  • While publishers can choose whether or not they want to display their social media, they can not rename the displayed text via UA admin.

Home Page Blocks

Most text on blocks and content on the Homepage can be customized on the Branding > Appearance tab.

Filter Bar

  • Apart from the All Categories, other categories in the filter are dynamic content. It will list all categories used in your published articles/collections. You can configure this on the Content > Categories tab in the UA Admin.

Article Card

  • The title, description, and category chip text on the Article card are dynamic content.

  • The Published Date format will follow a standard month name in English.

Standalone Article Page

  • At the bottom of a standalone article, there are interfaces for quick sharing, related articles, and trending articles.

  • The sections that are not highlighted will come directly from the other articles' titles,

    descriptions, and categories.

Collection Card

  • The collection title, description, and category chip text on the Article card are dynamic content.

  • The Published Date format will follow a standard month name in English.

Collection Detail

  • The collection title, description, and category chip text on the Article card are dynamic content.

Single Purchase Card

Subscription Card

  • All text in the Subscription Card can be customized on Offers > Subscriptions > Edit in UA admin.

  • While Publishers can adjust the period of the Payment Plan & the Trial, the full sentence cannot be changed.

Opt-in Card

  • All text in the Opt-in Card can be customized on Offers > Opt-ins > Edit in UA admin.

Log in prompt

  • This text will only be visible on the Collection detail page to non-signed readers.

Collection - Reading mode

  • When readers enter the collection reading mode, they can access TABLE OF CONTENTS (TOC) at the top left of the screen.

  • Inside this TOC, there is a couple of texts that are not part of the dynamic content and not editable, such as:

    • Button to go back to the Collection page

    • Button to switch between PDF viewer and Reader mode (if you use PDF Toggle View feature)

Account Page

Apart from the Publication name, most of the text on the Account page cannot be changed. The publication name will follow your publication name in the Branding > App tab.

All Subscription Cards

The account page will show all available subscriptions to non-subscribers.

  • The publication name will follow your publication name in the Branding > App tab.

  • All text within the Subscription Card can be customized on Offers > Subscriptions > Edit in UA admin.

  • While Publishers can adjust the period of the Payment Plan & the Trial, the full sentence cannot be changed.
