How to Upload a GIF to your Universal App?

Learn how you can upload a GIF as your Universal App's homepage banner.

Import a banner in a format of your choice, whether it is JPG, PNG OR even an animated one like GIF!

Adding a GIF as your Universal App banner is a great way to add a subtle animation to your homepage without the trouble.

One of the most important aspects of creating a banner is knowing its width and height.

  • Minimum width: 1600px (with important content within 640px to the left-and-right from the center.

  • Minimum height: 400px

  • Compatible file formats: SVG, GIF, PNG, JPG, and JPEG

  • Best Practices:

    • 2x size for retina displays (i.e. image width of 3200px)

  • Features: Banner can contain internal or external URLs (with or without UTM tracking link) that will open a new tab when clicked.

There are a lot of platforms you can use to create a GIF banner, if you are not a designer, we highly recommend Canva as it is easy to use and access.

Another important thing to note about adding a GIF as your banner is that, it might affect your Universal App homepage loading time.

Please note that your Banner GIF will not stop looping. If you would like to set a minimum number or change the loop count, we highly recommend you adjust it through
