To publish content under the Classification unlock type, you first need to create the Classification group(s) and add readers to them. An article or collection can be linked to more than one Classification group, and a reader can be a part of more than one Classification group.

It's important to note that the Classification article or collection is not visible to your readers unless they log in. The Classification article or collection is not available for SEO as well. In other words, it's not indexed by Google.

Create a new classification

To create a Classification group, head to Content > Classification and click Create New Classification.

After that, fill in the details to create your new Classification. Click Create Classification when it is ready.

Link content to the classification

From here, there are two ways to link your content to the Classification. You can either go to the Classification page to link all the articles or collections you want to link, or you can go to the articles or collections page to link it.

We recommend doing it from the Classification page as this way is easier if you want to do it in bulk.

Another way to add a classification to your collections and/or articles is by changing the unlock type to Classification and selecting the classification you want to link to the content. You can add more than one classification for an article & collection.

Link the classification to the reader

The final step to making the classification work is adding the classification to a reader. You can link the readers from the Classification page if you want to do it in bulk.

Or, you can also go to CRM > Readers and link the readers from the readers’ page.

Delete the classification

You can also delete the classification you created by going to Content > Classification and clicking the Trash button. After you delete a classification, it will automatically unlink it from the content and the reader.

And that’s it! You can now hide content behind Classifications. Also, check out our video tutorial below:
