To customize your Universal App’s homepage layout, first you need to log into Universal App admin. Once you’re in, head straight to Branding > Appearance.

From there, click on the Layout Option button.

There are two things that you can customize in this menu; column width ratio and column separator.

Column width ratio is the ratio of homepage columns. There are two columns on your homepage, the left-hand side (LHS) column and the right-hand side (RHS) column. By default, the ratio of LHS compared to RHS is 3:2, but with this new update, you can decide how big the RHS column is compared to the LHS column. All you have to do is play around with the slider to adjust.

Column separator menu defines the look of the transition between two columns. The default look is the LHS and RHS columns are separated by a line and the RHS column has a different color. With this menu, you can determine whether the transition between LHS and RHS columns will have a line and/or a different color or not.

After you make the changes, click on Update Layout.

This is the default setting:

This is the homepage with the column width ratio of 5.5 and RHS column color removed.

Examples are both on a 12" screen.

Pro tip! Try the new ratio in different desktop screen sizes to get a better look before settling for a certain ratio.

And you’re done! Click Save Changes to save the changes and you can see what your new homepage looks like using Live Preview.
